Sell or rent your property!

The Golden Visa is a residence permit programme in Portugal for non-EU foreign nationals who wish to obtain a temporary residence permit and, subsequently, access to permanent residence and the possibility of citizenship.

The current Golden Visa rules in Portugal have excluded the purchase of residential property as a direct route to qualification. The main investment options accepted include:

Golden Visa

Investment Funds (Venture Capital)

Minimum investment of €500,000 in regulated Portuguese funds (e.g. private equity or venture capital funds).
At least 60% of the fund's capital must be invested in Portuguese companies.
Direct or indirect exposure to real estate is not permitted.

Science and Technology Research

Minimum investment of €500,000 in scientific or technological research activities at recognised institutions in Portugal.

Cultural Support or Heritage

Minimum donation of €250,000 for heritage preservation or cultural production projects (amount may be reduced to €200,000 in low-density regions).

Business Creation or Expansion / Employment

Create at least 10 permanent jobs in Portugal, or
Invest €500,000 in an existing company and maintain a minimum level of related employment.
